Screen Layout Trim Video

The Trim Video feature lets you shorten a clip without leaving the Screen Layout canvas or opening a separate video editor. Just set the point where playback should begin and where it should stop, and fine-tune the clip's volume at the same time. The file itself isn't affected — the system keeps the original in full, so you can go back to it or redraw the trim points whenever needed.

Where video trimming works

Video trimming is available anywhere a video file is used as content:

1. Screen Layout Settings → Scene Background — the scene's background video.
2. Layer Background — the video set as a layer's background.
3. The Media widget.

How to trim a video

1. Hover over the video block — a ✂️ Trim icon appears next to the preview.
2. Click it to open the floating trim panel over the canvas.
3. Move the left and right handles of the selected range to mark where playback should start and end.
4. Check the result with the Play/Pause button.
5. Adjust the track's volume with the Volume button if needed.
6. Confirm with Trim to apply the changes, or close the panel without saving using Cancel.

The file isn't physically cut — trimming only changes the start and end timestamps of the playback. The original clip remains available at all times, and the trim range can be revisited whenever you like.
