Keep every screen in the practice as current as the front desk

Dental digital signage lets dental practices and groups manage office information, oral hygiene education, service updates and team introductions across waiting-room, treatment-room and checkout screens from one centralized platform.
Your front desk makes slides from templates right in the browser, puts them into playlists and schedules them by day and room. Update the office hours once and you'll see the change in the waiting room, on the chair-side screen and at checkout.
Every room shows what fits it, and the whole practice still looks like one brand.

Digital signage for every area of a dental practice

A patient checking in, waiting with a child or sitting in the chair needs something different from a screen. Look runs every area from one account, each with its own playlist and schedule, and keeps staff content apart from what patients see.

Reception and check-in desk

Give patients key information as they arrive.
The screen by the desk carries what patients ask on arrival: office hours, accepted insurance and payment options, what to bring to a first visit, and a QR code that opens the new-patient forms.
A multi-zone layout keeps office information, today's notice and a live review score visible together on one display.
Best for: Office hours, insurance and payment options, check-in steps, new-patient forms QR, Google reviews

Waiting room

Help patients relax and learn something while they wait.
This is where patients spend the most time, so this screen does most of the explaining: how to brush and floss, why regular cleanings matter, and services they might not know you offer, from whitening to implants.
In between, calm nature video keeps the mood quiet. Keep to one message per slide, with text big enough to read from the farthest chair.
Best for: Oral hygiene tips, services and treatments, team introductions, calm video, Wi-Fi QR

Kids' corner and pediatric area

Content made for the youngest patients.
A bright, cartoon-style brushing tip lands with a six-year-old faster than any leaflet. The kids' corner screen can run tooth-friendly snack ideas, short brushing videos and what to expect at a first visit.
Give that screen a playlist of its own so kids' content never mixes with implant or financing slides.
Best for: Brushing tips, healthy snack ideas, kid-friendly videos, first-visit explainers

Treatment rooms and the dental chair

Create a calmer experience at the dental chair.
A ceiling-mounted or wall screen in the operatory gives the patient something to look at during a cleaning: calm video, or a short explainer on the procedure before it starts.
Every treatment room has its own playlist, so the hygiene room and the implant consultation room each show content that matches the appointment happening there.
Best for: Calm video, procedure explainers, aftercare previews, oral health information

Checkout and treatment coordination

Send aftercare and the next visit home on a phone.
At checkout, patients are thinking about cost and the next appointment. The screen there covers payment and financing options, the reminder to book the next cleaning, and aftercare for today's treatment.
Patients can scan a QR code on the slide to open your booking page or the full aftercare leaflet on their phone before they go.
Best for: Payment and financing options, aftercare steps, recall reminders, referral program, QR to booking

Staff room and sterilization area

Brief the whole team from one screen.
Morning huddle notes, which dentists are in today, infection-control reminders, training dates and a thank-you to the hygienist who covered a shift all belong on a staff screen.
It plays its own playlist, apart from the patient screens, and the Calendar app pulls the team schedule directly from Google Calendar or Outlook.
Best for: Huddle notes, dentists on duty, infection-control reminders, training dates, team recognition

Frequently asked questions about dental office digital signage

Where should a dental practice put digital signage screens?

Wherever patients wait or sit still. The reception and waiting area comes first: it gets the most questions and the longest waits. A ceiling-mounted or wall screen in the treatment room gives the patient something to look at from the chair. A screen at the checkout desk suits aftercare notes and a reminder to book the next cleaning, and one in the staff room keeps the team briefed. Look runs all of them from one account, and screen tags decide which room plays what.

What should a dental office show on its screens?

Start with what the front desk is asked most: opening hours, accepted insurance and payment options, what to bring to a first visit. Then rotate oral hygiene tips, services patients may not know you offer, such as whitening, clear aligners or implants, and short introductions to your dentists and hygienists. Keep one message per slide and put longer material behind a QR code, so it opens on the patient's phone.

Can screens help nervous patients in the waiting room and the chair?

They give patients something other than the next appointment to focus on. In the waiting room, nature video, a slow loop of calm slides and a clear note about what happens next make an uncertain wait easier. Over the chair, a ceiling-mounted screen can play the same calm video during a cleaning, and a pediatric room can run its own kid-friendly playlist. Screens support how your team reassures anxious patients; they don't replace it.

How do we promote cosmetic and elective treatments on screen?

Treat the screen as patient education, not a billboard. A slide that explains what whitening, veneers or clear aligners involve, how long treatment takes and who to ask does more than a discount banner. Build it in the Content Creator with your own photos and fonts, add a QR code to the treatment page, and give a seasonal offer an end date so it comes down on its own. Check local rules on healthcare advertising before using before-and-after photos.

Can we introduce our dentists and staff on screen?

Yes, and it's one of the simplest slides to make. A photo, a name, a specialty and one line about each dentist, hygienist or assistant helps a new patient recognize who they are about to meet. Start from a free template, swap in the photo and text in the browser, and put the team slides in the waiting-room playlist between hygiene tips and service information. When someone joins or leaves, you change one slide.

Can the content change by day of the week or time of day?

Yes. Smart Scheduling runs a weekly schedule of time slots on each screen, in that screen's own time zone. If afternoons are for children, the waiting room can switch to kid-friendly content after school and back to adult topics the next morning. A back-to-school checkup campaign, a whitening offer or a holiday closure notice can each get a start and end date, so it appears and comes down on its own.

Can Look connect to our dental practice management software?

Not through a native connector. Look offers a Zapier app, an action trigger, outbound webhooks and Embeddable Code, so if your practice management or scheduling software can send data through Zapier, or exposes a web page built for display, that content can reach a screen. Most practices simply update screen content by hand. Either way, patient names and appointment details should stay off any screen patients can see.

How do we keep patient information off waiting-room screens?

Don't put it there in the first place. Public screens should never show patient names, appointment times, treatment plans or balances. If you call patients from the waiting room, do it in person. Check the viewing angle of every screen from where patients stand and sit, including the checkout desk. Look controls who can publish to each part of the CMS, but what goes on the screen is the practice's policy decision.

Is Look HIPAA compliant?

HIPAA compliance is the practice's responsibility across its whole technology setup, and the simplest way to keep signage out of scope is to never put patient health information on a screen. Look provides controls that support secure screen management: AWS hosting under a 99.9% monthly uptime SLA, per-section permissions for each user, SAML 2.0 single sign-on, login alerts, and an on-premise option for practices that want the CMS on their own servers.

Can we show Google reviews and social media on the screens?

Yes. The Google Reviews app shows your live rating and recent reviews in the waiting room, where patients decide whether to book the next visit. Instagram shows your practice's own posts, YouTube plays oral health videos, and Wi-Fi share puts the guest network on screen as a QR code. Apps need an internet connection to update. Keep essential content, such as opening hours, as images or video in the same playlist.

Can patients leave feedback or book an appointment from the screen?

The screen can start it, and the patient's phone finishes it. Add a QR code to a slide and it opens your online booking page, your review link or a patient survey you already run elsewhere. On touch-enabled displays, Button widgets let a patient tap through service information, and the screen returns to its loop after an idle timeout. Look doesn't collect forms, survey answers or payments on the screen itself.

What hardware do we need, and can we use the TV we already have?

Most practices start with displays they already own. The free Look App runs on Android, Google TV, Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi, LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, Amazon Signage, Fire OS and macOS, and the Look HDMI Player turns any display with an HDMI input into a managed screen. LG webOS and Samsung Tizen commercial displays run the player on the screen itself, so there is no extra box to hide behind the TV.

What happens to the screens if the office internet goes down?

Images and video already cached on the player keep playing, so the waiting-room loop doesn't go blank, and the player syncs again once the connection returns. Apps, web content and live streams need the internet and pause until it's back. Keep opening hours, hygiene tips and calm video as cached media on the screens that matter most, such as reception and the treatment rooms.

Can we manage several dental offices and control who publishes?

Yes. Every location sits in one account, screens are sorted with tags and groups, and each screen follows its own time zone. A group-wide campaign goes out with one publish, while each office keeps its own hours and team slides. There are three user roles with access set per CMS section, plus SAML 2.0 single sign-on. Access is scoped by section, not by screen, so decide who shares publishing access before handing out logins.

How much does digital signage for a dental office cost?

Look Digital Signage plans start at $6 per screen per month, and the per-screen price drops as you add screens. The free trial runs 14 days and needs no credit card. Practices that want the CMS on their own servers can choose on-premise deployment with a one-time lifetime license. Hardware cost depends on the setup; many offices only add a player to a TV they already have in the waiting room.

What is digital signage for dental offices?

Dental digital signage is a way to run connected screens across a dental practice from one dashboard: oral hygiene tips, service information, team introductions, office hours and calm content in the waiting room and treatment rooms. With Look Digital Signage, staff build slides from templates in a browser, schedule them by day and room, and publish to one screen, one office or every location in a group.
