What is a signage player, in principle?
The digital signage player is an integral part of the system, performing the function of content playback directly on the screen's side. As a rule, there are 2 main types of players - software apps and hardware devices. Software players are used in projects where the screens have an embedded operating system, such as Android TV, Fire OS, Windows, Tizen, or Web OS.
Accordingly, the player can be installed right on the screen itself, without additional using of an external control PC. Hardware players are used when it is necessary to connect a display without an operating system inside to the CMS (regular TV, LED screen, video wall, etc.). Most often, they are connected to the screen via the HDMI interface and become an external signal source for digital signage

He is responsible for the quality of the picture, smoothness of playback and stability of the broadcast. But this is exactly the main function of your
digital signage installation. And really, no matter how cool content you create, if your player is unstable, constantly goes to a black or blank screens or displays system errors, you will never get the result you expected from your screen.
